SHOWEM' WHAT YOU GOT Portfolio Reviews

March 5th, 2016.

I went to this event at Center Stage Gallery and met Christophe.  I have learned some important things after I talked with him:
  • My portfolio must have the best of my artworks which I am 100% satisfied.
  • My portfolio should have no more than 15 pieces of artworks.
  • I should show more pieces about character design which is my major.
  • I can put 1 to 2 pieces of figure drawings to show my foundation.
  • The principles of character design are shapes, sizes, edges and proportions.
  • Using overlapping lines and shadows to show the volume of 2D characters.
  • It is better to show some character drawings in colors.
  • The industry of 2D and 3D animation link together nowadays.
  • It is better to create portfolio digitally because it is easier to carry and send it to someone else.
  • The books he recommended is "Henry Yan's Figure Drawing (Techniques and Tips)" by Henry Yan and "Color and Light" by James Gurney.
